Types of Book Genre's you should know📚
I know it's been a while and you haven't heard from me. But here I am again to share some knowledge that I feel would be useful to everyone. Books have always played a major role in my life. I have been a reader ever since I can remember. I would like to share the story of how I started reading.
I was in my freshman year and I barely had any friends to talk to or to even spend my lunch breaks with. I used to love library periods so that I can sit in front of the cooler and read a book without any disturbance for an hour. Slowly I started reading storybooks and started hoarding them as well. You can also read about my favorite romance novels of all time here.
In this article, I am talking about different genres of books. There are 8 different types:
- Fiction
- Non-Fiction
- Romance
- Mystery
- Science Fiction
- Fantasy
- Horror
- Young Adult
1.
Fiction: This is a genre that includes
imaginative or made-up stories. Fiction can be based on real-life events, but
the characters and the story are usually fictional. Some examples of fiction
include romance, science fiction, mystery, and fantasy.
2.
Non-fiction: This genre includes books
that are based on facts, real-life events, or people. Non-fiction can be
autobiographies, biographies, history, science, self-help, and more.
3.
Romance: This genre revolves around
romantic relationships and love. Romance novels often include happy endings and
can be further classified into sub-genres such as historical romance,
contemporary romance, and paranormal romance.
4.
Mystery: This genre revolves around
solving a crime or a puzzle. Mystery novels can be further classified into sub-genres
such as detective fiction, cozy mystery, and thriller.
5.
Science Fiction: This genre revolves
around the future or imaginary worlds and technology. Science fiction can be
further classified into sub-genres such as space opera, cyberpunk, and dystopian.
6.
Fantasy: This genre revolves around
supernatural or magical elements, mythical creatures, and imaginary worlds.
Fantasy can be further classified into sub-genres such as high fantasy, urban
fantasy, and dark fantasy.
7.
Horror: This genre is designed to scare
the reader and often includes elements of suspense, supernatural, or gore.
Horror can be further classified into sub-genres such as psychological horror,
ghost stories, and monster horror.
8. Young Adult: This genre is aimed at teenagers and young adults and can include any of the above genres. Young adult books often focus on coming-of-age stories, identity, and self-discovery.
I just finished reading A million kisses in your lifetime it was a fantasy novel and I will be soon posting a review about it here. Till then spread love and positivity.
